In the educational context, it is not common to find pedagogical materials that efficiently combine entertainment and learning about responsibility in the care of animals. Therefore, the objective of this study was to report the elaboration and validation of a board game, entitled "Dog's life" and the evaluation of its potential in promoting learning among children and adults on topics such as feeding, hygiene and well-being of dogs. Validation was carried out through a pre-test and post-test design with questionnaires applied before and after the matches, covering 34 participants, 26 children and 8 adults. From quantitative observations, an improvement in the participants' knowledge was identified, especially in the children's group, which obtained an increase of 28.6% in the correct answers in the list of questions. The implementation of the practical activity highlighted the game's potential as an accessible and effective educational resource, with benefits observed in both engagement and content assimilation, along with an assessment of its potential as a support tool for extension activities aimed at promoting knowledge. The observations made during its application have contributed to the ongoing restructuring of the material, which will be adapted for different educational contexts.
