Abstract

This article discusses the ranking of the ten most recommended works in Teaching Plans for Literature courses at Brazilian federal universities in the field of Classical Studies. As part of the results presented in ROCHA's master's dissertation (2025), this article portrays the theoretical and referential framework for teaching and learning Latin and Greek languages and literature in contemporary Brazil. The postulates of Corpus Linguistics are considered, with the aid of bibliometrics, to develop a corpus from which the aforementioned ranking was created. The data confirm the supremacy of the offer of Latin language in relation to Greek and confirm a pedagogical tradition that is still essentially grammatical and recommends ancient grammar manuals.
