Abstract

This paper analyzes practices of reading poetry aloud in high school classes both in Brazil and in France. By enabling themselves to be affected by such readings, students (re)discover their subject position, their dignity, their human condition, and their social responsibility in a quasi-psychoanalytic work of (re)construction of the self. In short, by reading, saying and writing (themselves), students place themselves in the world.

Cynthia Agra de Brito Neves, Instituto de Estudos da Linguagem, Universidade Estadual de Campinas (IEL/UNICAMP)

Graduação (Bacharelado e Licenciatura) em Letras pela Universidade Estadual de Campinas/Unicamp (1995), especialização em Educação e Psicopedagogia (2005) e mestrado em Educação pela Pontifícia Universidade Católica de Campinas/Puccamp (2008). Doutora em Linguística Aplicada pela Universidade Estadual de Campinas/Unicamp/(2014), em co-tutela com –a Université Stendhal Grenoble 3, em Grenoble, na França. Atualmente (2016), é docente no Departamento de Linguística Aplicada do Instituto de Estudos da Linguagem (Iel), na área de Letramentos e Ensino de Língua Materna, na Universidade Estadual de Campinas (Unicamp).–
