Abstract

Sociolinguistics brought the importance of understanding languages as heterogeneous, as social activities, and realizing that variation is a phenomenon inherent to them. Consequently, new theoretical and methodological concepts related to mother tongue teaching-learning process began to emerge. In this article, we will think over how this theoretical viewpoint can influence the teaching practices.
