‘Why don’t you belive in your potential? Stop, darling!”: linguistic analysis of self-help discourse for teens

This paper intends to analyze the self-help discourse to teens in a linguistic perspective. We are fundamented in studies of French School of Discourse Analysis. We selected as corpus three editions published by the magazine Capricho between January and March 2015. The analysis shows that the ethos of this discourse indicates effects of authority, certainty and spontaneity.
