This article aims to show the link between the Platonic myth of Theuth in the Phaedrus dialogue and in De umbris idearum of Bruno, through the reformulation of the writing/memory binomial. Bruno’s method promises to infinitely potentiate memory and can be read as an answer to the Platonic thesis.
