Abstract

This essay studies the celebration of Creole identity in the novel Pluie et vent sur Télumée Miracle by the writer Simone Schwarz-Bart. It is to highlight the culture and the arts to make the Caribbean people from the apprecia­tion of the creole language and orality, in which emerge proverbs, stories, songs and aphorisms able to reiterate the link between memory and orality in the fabric of ro­mance. And reiterated that the literary plots as space for reflection about languages and cultures in contact.

Vanessa Massoni da Rocha, UFF

Doutora em Estudos de Literatura pela UFF; nesta universidade, obteve ain­da o diploma de Mestrado em Literaturas Francófonas e o de Graduação em Letras (português-francês). É Professora de Língua Francesa e de Literaturas Francófonas nos programas de Graduação em Letras e de Pós-Graduação Lato Sensu na Universidade Federal Fluminense. Suas pesquisas acadêmicas se ins­crevem no âmbito da francofonia, mais precisamente no estudo de obras de expressão francesa do Quebec e do Caribe, e vinculam-se ao Núcleo de Es­tudos Canadenses da UFF e ao grupo de pesquisa “Identidades em trânsito: estéticas transnacionais desde 2003”. Atualmente desenvolve pesquisas sobre a memória (pós)colonial nas Antilhas francesas.
