In 2003, the workers of Flaskô, decided to occupy the factory and take control of production. Have acted with the Movement of Occupied Factories and have participated in the political campaign for nationalization of factories. In 2005 have organized the construction of a neighborhood, the “Vila Operária e Popular”, inside the factory grounds, in an area adjacent to the industrial park. Since then, the factory council, went on to claim the Sumaré prefecture the regularization of this neighborhood. In 2010 the factory council launched the campaign Declaration by Social Interest of the entire factory area. Through participant observation and interviews with workers and residents seek to reflect on the relationship between the factory and the neighborhood by organizing collective actions. The data collected indicate that the emergence of Vila Operária, influenced the emergence of new meanings to the factory occupation by developing a new 'argumentative strategy'.Downloads
