THE WORLD FOOD SYSTEM GOVERNANCE AND THE 2030 AGENDA LIMITS

The number of hungry people has increased for the first time since the 2007 crisis. To the 821 million undernourished people, we have to add the 2.4 billion overweight and obese people reflecting an unprecedented increase in malnutrition. The Agenda 2030 framework does not sufficient to improve access to adequate and sustainable food for all people. This article analyzes, first, the globalization of the world food system and the international structures responsible for its governance. Secondly, it puts into question the capacity of the Agenda 2030 sustainable development to consider foods provision for everybody.
