ABSTRACT
In view of the emergence of new forms of gender violence, we researched revenge pornography in order to highlight the main socio-legal and psychological impacts on victims. In order to do so, we examine fundamental concepts of gender theory as a device of sexuality, gender performativity and pharmacopornography, as well as investigate the legal treatment given to revenge pornography by the Brazilian legal system, presenting the main legislation and criticisms regarding the subject under study. We carried out a research based on document analysis and bibliographic review of a qualitative nature. In light of this, we verified that the differentiated construction of female and male sexualities determines a double morality with regard to the social reception of the sexual behaviors of men and women, especially when it comes to the exposure of intimate content, which imposes the observation that, in our historical time, new forms of gender violence are emerging, which, instead of replacing traditional forms of violence against women, intersect with them.
