The research theme is the composition by sex and color in university careers and its impact on power relations in the configuration of professiona. The research followed the line of Sociology of Professions, considering that the object of analysis is centered on professional groups. an essencial reference of social identity, asserting itself as an area of concentration of studies. The theory of gender was still little known when we presented our doctoral thesis in 1998, beginning to have an impact in the late 1980s. Only in the theories produced by the feminist movement associated with researches groups in universities with dentification with political activism was the articulation between professions and gender explored. The professional group and its expression as a power were limited to the hierarchies produced by that group were limited to the hierarchies produced by that group in the bureaucratic structure and in the educcational logic associated with the certification demanded by the labor market. Very little was discussed by the group about their own subjects: white, male, and young. New conficts arise, challenging ethics in this universe, and considering the events caused by the COVID-19 pandemic in Brazil, we bring a reflection on the impact of power relations in the medical field.
