The main objective of this article is to analyze the work and trajectory of Axel Honneth, especially with regard to his study of the Theory of Recognition, based on the writings of Hegel, when he was young, as well as his reflections on the Critical Theory of School of Frankfurt in order to demonstrate its contribution to the construction of an emancipatory conception of human rights, in contemporary times. The question that we intend to face is: Honneth deals with current ideas that directly reflect on the individual and on the collective, in this sense, would it be possible to think of an emancipatory conception of human rights from his theory? The premise from which it starts is that, when approaching recognition, Honneth talks about topics such as subjectivity and intersubjectivity, social dynamics, dignity, respect and the relations of recognition, which are: Love, law and solidarity. All this without leaving aside the confrontation of its violations, thus elaborating a true moral grammar of social conflicts, resulting in a Social Theory in eternal construction, a true legacy for the other generations. The research is descriptive with a qualitative approach through the procedures of analysis of primary and secondary bibliography.
