THE REINFORCEMENT OF CHRISTIAN FUNDAMENTALIST IN BRAZL TROUGH JURIDICAL LANGUAGE
Abstract
The overlap of neoliberal and neoconservative reasons has favored the election of extreme right-wing, anti-democratic and reactionary politicians to the heads of national executive powers, both in the periphery and in the center of capitalism. One of the bases of support of these leaders and movements is the reinforcement of Christian fundamentalism in the public sphere, a phenomenon that interferes and is reinforced by a specific functioning of national legal fields. The objective of this work is to reflect on the impacts of the superposition of these rationalities on the Brazilian legal field. From a methodological point of view, the work is initially based on a critical bibliographic review of the concepts of neoliberalism and neoconservatism, contrasted with the materialistic and historical development of these ideologies in the concrete, as well as their relations with legal language. Afterwards is carried out an inductive interpretative analysis that seeks to extract empirical evidence from the journalistic and academic coverage of our object, capable of revealing the instrumentalization of the juridical to undertake the reinforcement of Christian fundamentalism in the Brazilian public sphere.
