Abstract

Abstract

Walter Benjamin's philosophy goes against the philosophical tradition. As Adorno says, "Benjamin had no philosopher in the traditional sense and according to traditional criteria" (ADORNO, 1992, p. 10). There is a renunciation of "the philosophical ideal of the system, that is, the claim to totality and totalization of thought". He moves away from the traditional theory of the great philosophical systems, whose thinking is analytical, abstract, ordering, systematic, deductive, total and pretentious in relation to the search for an absolute truth, as well as the subject-object division.
