Abstract

This geographic narrative is the result of a joint effort by three members of the UFF Geography Tutorial Educational Program (PET). This is one of the products resulting from the project "The reverse of the same place: the margins of the city" , which analyzes how, in the production of urban space, subjects, narratives and knowledge are hidden by hegemonic power. In this way, the present work aims to share the experience of monitoring the Capoeira de Rua group, which operates in the South Zone of Rio de Janeiro, offering meals and capoeira classes to homeless people.

Luiza Portella, UFF

Licenciada em Geografia pela Universidade Federal Fluminense. Bolsista do Programa de Educação Tutorial (PET-Geografia UFF), onde participa do Núcleo de Etnografias Urbanas, realizando a pesquisa "O avesso do mesmo lugar: às margens da cidade". Estagiária da Eletronuclear na parte de gestão ambiental.

Victoria Ferreira Oliva, UFF

Mestranda em Geografia pela Universidade Federal Fluminense, onde é bolsista pela CAPES. Licenciada e bacharelanda em Geografia pela Universidade Federal Fluminense (UFF - Niterói). Durante a graduação, foi bolsista do Programa de Educação Tutorial (PET-Geografia UFF), onde participa do Núcleo de Etnografias Urbanas. Integrante do Núcleo de Estudos sobre Território, Ações Coletivas e Justiça (NETAJ-UFF). Cursou Geografia e História em período de Mobilidade Internacional na Universidad de Jaén, Espanha (2020.1).

Manuela Phebo Torres, UFF

Graduada em Licenciatura  em Geografia pela Universidade Federal Fluminense e em curso do Bacharel. Membro do grupo PET do núcleo Etnografias Urbanas, realizando a pesquisa "O avesso do mesmo lugar: às margens da cidade".
