25 years of meaning

Abstract

This article addresses the group PET Geography of UFF/ Niterói as a place; place of training, struggle, pride and meeting place. Founded in 1979 the Tutorial Education Program, through the tripod of Research, Teaching and Extension, complements the training of students from different universities and courses in the country.  It is in the specificities of the groups that each PET meets its senses. In the year 2021 PET-GEO celebrated its twenty-five years of existence and as a way to celebrate this date was realized the film "PET-GEO: 25 years", where old and current members could record a little of this history from their memories. In this article these memories were revisited reinforcing the meanings of the present. In the midst of these memories the idea of PET as a Place became even clearer. The concept of Place can be understood as a center of meanings forged in experience. Therefore, it is before the experience of being part that the PET-GEO group was understood as Place in this text.
