O What science teachers from a countryside school in Bahia say on the agribusiness socio-environmental theme

By understanding the importance of discussing socio-environmental
themes to problematize the specific contents of science education for the
development of critical subjects, the purpose of this article was to analyze how
teachers understand the agribusiness socio-environmental theme, associated with
science classes. The research is a qualitative approach using the technique of
Discursive Textual Analysis, from which three categories emerged, as follows: a)
Chemical inputs and Transgenics; b) Deforestation and degradation of natural
resources; and c) Unequal distribution of resources. The teachers propose good
strategies and important knowledge for the implementation and development of the
socio-environmental agribusiness theme in science teaching. However, the
conservative view is still very present.
