Qualitative research and the paradigm of postmodern science: epistemological and methodological reflection on the scientific work

Abstract

The aim of this paper is to present a reflection on an epistemological and methodological sense about the scientific production, especially in the social sciences domain, more specifically about Interactional Sociolinguistics and Conversation Analysis. We point out the interpretativism as a primary fundament which leads us to a research production in a line more qualitative than quantitative. We also point out the subject’s relevance, either researcher or researched, for micro-social vision researches.

Lillian Márcia Ferreira Divan, UFJF

É doutoranda em Letras/Lingüística pela Universidade Federal de Juiz de Fora e desenvolve, em sua tese de doutorado, uma pesquisa sobre a construção e a negociação da identidade de consumidor no PRO CON. Participa do grupo de pesquisa “Identidade, linguagem e interação”, coordenado pela professora Dra. Sonia Bitencourt Silveira. É autora de artigos publicados em revistas especializadas, como a Revista Eletrônica do Instituto de Humanidades e a revista Gatilho. Possui um artigo (no prelo) em um livro da editora Claraluz.

Roberto Perobelli, UFJF

É doutorando em Letras/Lingüística pela Universidade Federal de Juiz de Fora e desenvolve, em sua tese de doutorado, uma pesquisa sobre as práticas de neutralidade na atuação do mediador na Vara de Família de uma cidade do interior do Estado do Rio de Janeiro. Participa do grupo de pesquisa “Contextos de intervenção de terceiras partes em situação de conflito”, coordenado pelo professor Dr. Paulo C. Gago. Já publicou artigos nas revistas Matraga (UERJ) e Calidoscópio (UNISINOS).
