Abstract

This text proposes to analyze the experiences of the colonial administration produced for a locality of the captaincy of Minas, namely, the Serro Frio district, composed of the Terms of Vila do Príncipe and Arraial do Tejuco. It aims to point out how the political-administrative order to structure this mining territory was governed in the first years of mining, due to the growth of diamond exploration. Thus, we intend to present how different governmental actions were established that aimed to sustain the royal interests on the extraction of diamonds in the region.
