Abstract

The patents transcribed here are part of the documentation of the Portuguese administration, from the 17th century, and are one of the few records on the central African sobados, which make reference to political issues internal to them. evidencing the agency of the Ambundos, their political and social practices. These letters are in the Projeto Acervo Digital Angola-Brasil (PADAB) research collection and are part of the document identification and indexing work of the Angola Historical Archive, whose objective is to analyse and publish sources that show the historical and cultural connections between Angola and Brazil.
