Abstract

This research, the result of a doctoral thesis defended in the Graduate Program in Education, at the Federal Fluminense University / UFF, in 2020, deals with teacher formation and inclusive education, considering the experiences in the Bachelor program in Physical Education at UFF. The central question was: 'Why does teacher formation takes priority in view of the urgency to face violence and the manifestation of prejudice at school?' The theoretical and methodological framework was the Critical Theory of Society, based on the thought of Adorno (2011) and contemporary commentators. The study involved: a coordinator; four teachers of the subject 'Research and Teaching Practice'; eleven graduate teachers of the subject and twenty-eight students. Thus, the objective of the research was to analyze the formation of Physical Education teachers, with the Institute of Physical Education / IEF as the place of study. The relevance of this discussion lies in the perspective of thinking about formation in the context of class society, as well as its limits and possibilities.
