The Color of Lack
Keywords:
Space, Body, Blackness, Sexuality, Body WritesAbstract
My life experience is diasporic. Since I migrated from region to graduate in Geography and more recently when I started postgraduate studies, I have been faced with situations of prejudice, rejection and/or exclusion that harm my regionality (Northeast) and my color (Black) when at the same time as it is the effect of these. Furthermore, such marks have implicated the way in which my sexuality is speculated and desired in front of white bodies. That said, the poem that follows was born on an afternoon when I was filled with a feeling of anger, aversion and ignorance of myself. As if a prelude to a catharsis that is just beginning.
