Intestinal parasites are included among neglected diseases or
neglected tropical diseases, although some are not restricted to tropical and
subtropical regions. They occur predominantly in areas of socio-environmental
vulnerability, where there is a lack of basic sanitation, difficulties in accessing
medical care and information on prophylactic measures. Schoolchildren between 7
and 14 years of age are the most affected and harmed by intestinal parasites, since
their hygiene habits are, in most cases, inadequate. It was a qualitative research,
carried out in a state school unit, in the municipality of Nova Iguaçu. The
methodology followed a structured sequence, with the objective of discussing the
knowledge, attitudes and practices (CAP) of students (13 to 17 years old) from public
schools on the theme of intestinal parasitosis and how it is addressed in elementary
school, as well as evaluating the impact of educational strategies and technologies
through the use of booklets and board games. After the steps of the methodological
path, it was analyzed that there was an adherence to the ludic practice, being a
motivating tool for learning, cognitive and critical development on intestinal
parasites.
