Abstract

Subjectivity, in terms of a practice in Mental Health services oriented towards the resocialization, cannot be considered apart from the consideration of the citizenship of those who are being treated. The author tries to analise this articulation of subjectivity and citizenship from his professional formation, the participation of a patient in a public event and considerations of other authors related to this area. The need of permanent articulation between theory and practice is emphasized, since the process of resocialization demands that true legitimation of patients’, relatives’ and workers’ speeches happen everyday, along with the construction of channels of communication with the general society.
