Mourning no more - thinking with the dead

Would the dead become nonexistent after death? This field of investigation opens the seminar. Theories are produced by social, historical and cultural devices and provide information about our way of living. The authoress is interested in discussing the mourning experience as a resistance of the dead to the sinking into oblivion. She analyses novels, American TV series and ethnographic studies as effects of a movement that resists, interventions through which dead people speak. She also uses contrasts, seeking something that tells us about ourselves and do not oversimplify the multitude of meanings of mourning to its pathological aspects.Downloads
