This article seeks to situate the gastronomic scene of the four Brazilian cities that have the title by UNESCO (Florianópolis, Belém, Paraty and Belo Horizonte) and, mainly, describe the actions used to mitigate the effects of the pandemic on the activity. Through interviews with managers and entrepreneurs in the field, we sought to understand how the label’s strategic governance and its representation for the city is configured, especially as a point of articulation for certain sectors. The main results show that there is a very favorable perception from managers and entrepreneurs interviewed regarding the effects of the seal. However, the lack of indicators to monitor such benefits is one of the missing points in the strategic organization of the title.
