Abstract

Abstract:

Between the 1970s and 1980s, the expression “new historical subjects” was present both in the speeches of the leaders of social movements and in the publications of intellectuals from different disciplines. This article aims to recover the discussion on popular participation in the constituent process of that time from theoretical references of history and political philosophy, as well as the way in which the period of political transition was experienced by different social actors and extracted meanings from it. Thus, it is expected to contribute to the studies of the constitutional history of the 1987/88 constitutional process and of hermeneutics related to the 1988 Constitution and its set of rights, offering an interpretative and critical panorama on that specific situation and its social actors.
