RESEARCH AND THE INSTITUTE OF PHYSICAL EDUCATION OF THE UNIVERSIDADE FEDERAL FLUMINENSE:
Abstract
From the inquiry of how the research has been constituting the Institute of Physical Education of the Universidade Federal Fluminense, this article aims to present an overview of this trajectory. For this, through a methodology that was constituted by bibliographic references that bring history of this Institute, as well as by interrelationships with the educational legislation and their respective contexts, we present data organized in three great moments: the emergence and consolidation of physical education at this university, starting in 1975, through the creation of a physical education coordination directly linked to the Rectory; a second period that begins in 1990 with the Specialization in School Physical Education and continues until 2007, when a new organizational structure is housed in the newly created Institute of Physical Education and; finally, the third stage, from 2007 to 2020, which brings as milestones the beginning of the Degree in Physical Education, new competitions for admission of teachers and, commissions created to think about the expansion of the realized, through a stricto sensu. The discussions and results indicate elements for the continuity of an institutional work that highlights concerns about teaching and, because it is a federal public university, it is characterized by a commitment to teaching, research and extension for the benefit of the general population.
