Abstract

This academic essay approaches the issue of the overload experienced by female teachers in basic education in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic (2020-2021), a period in which we, as women and teachers, experienced an increase in our -- ever since -- strenuous working day, which structurally brings together, as Silvia Federici warns us, domestic work and professional work. In the light of the aforementioned author's reflections and also of the analyzes carried out by Byung Chul-Han and Françoise Vergès, we will try to outline the main features of this overload, focusing on the experiences we have lived in the municipal education networks of Niterói and state of RJ, where we operate, listing the diversity of structurally oppressive practices that permeate us on a daily basis.
