Based on queer studies, which critically interrogate the constructions of gender and sexuality, this text aims to discuss the need to subvert the processes of teaching and learning languages in the school space through a critically queer linguistic education. To this end, concepts and historical paths of queer studies are brought up, emphasizing the term “criticism”. In addition, it proposes a conception of linguistic education that is capable of encompassing the objectives of queer studies that are found in the fields of Pedagogy, Linguistics, Applied Linguistics and Literature.
