Abstract

The historical roots of educational tourism are linked to the Grand Tour, a period during which young aristocrats traveled for cultural enrichment. In contemporary times, pedagogical tourism has become integral to daily school life, particularly in private institutions. Consequently, laws, programs, and public policy initiatives aim to address this disparity, enabling public school students to engage in classes, trips, and environmental studies. The primary objective of this manuscript is to reflect on the significance of pedagogical tourism and the potential for creating memorable learning experiences for students. It also discusses the necessity for out-of-school classes to be accessible to children and adolescents from all social backgrounds. Through bibliographical and documentary research, this study describes three state programs in Paraná and a national legislative proposal related to the topic, analyzing their aspects of social inclusion. The findings indicate that there is still a long way to go in effectively providing pedagogical tourism opportunities for all children and teenagers, particularly those in public schools.
