Abstract

This writing was inspired by the trajectories of both being a student and being a teacher. In this sense, the objective of this study is to present the experiences and reflections of the author in the context of school institutions, with primary school and university education serving as reference points. Therefore, in order to facilitate a more comprehensive analysis, the autobiographical writing method was employed to establish an explicit relationship between the concept of drama and the aesthetic perspective, with a particular focus on theatre. Additionally, the concept of the unity of life and drama was considered, emphasising the reciprocal influence between the two. This was explored through an examination of the coexistence of diverse cultural, political and aesthetic approaches, which were conceptualised as another form of unity, namely, the unity of life and art. In light of the aforementioned considerations, it is possible to adopt a critical perspective while simultaneously embracing a commitment to education in its various forms. This entails the exercise of democracy and a responsible engagement with the processes of teaching, learning, research, and extension. It was thus necessary to assume the humanist dimension and reinvent oneself based on the encounters, understanding that drama will be present regardless of any situation, always provoking the possibility of internal or external conflict in the relationship with the other.
