Abstract

This paper aims to reflect about the contributions of Michel de Certeau to the constitution of the class as a aesthetic, ethical and political act, and for this, uses as theorical references writings by the author and their research group in dialogue with others thinkers in the field of education, history and others areas of knowledge. The utilized methodology is a qualitative analysis of a teaching experience in a interdisciplinary stricto sensu post-graduation course, for which 21 students from different degrees were involved (Architecture, Administration, Computer Science, Law, Nursing, History, Medicine, Pedagogy, Psychology and Social Services). The analysis is based on the texts produced individually and in groups by those students, that carried walks through the city taking part in the walking methodology and/or observed the daily practices, inspired in the contributions of Certeau and collaborators. The analysis explores two points of discussion: the memories and dialogues between school and territory. The results reveal the potential of the class using the memories as references to identity and territory and the class as an opening to more territories. The class becomes, in this sense, an instigator of reading and analysis of the city in different perspectives: environmental, architectural, cultural, ethical, aesthetic and political.
