Abstract

The idea for this article came up from our observation in classes, where we receive students from a social class without privileges - students that are entering in the Pedagogy University. We realized that there is a gap between the cultural background of students and the cultural capital that is often expected by university teachers. Given this scenario, the objective of this paper is to reflect on the issue of social and cultural inclusion, trying to bring the teacher closer to the student. Our expectation is an education system that embraces diversity, moving more and more towards inclusion, where teachers can develop work strategies that promotes the integration and acceptance of students, enabling them to overcome any obstacles that may arise during their journey.
