ART AND HUMAN FORMATION

Abstract

This article seeks to discuss the contribution of the artistic typical to human formation, based on Lukács (2018). To this end, we will focus on the categorical triad (singularity, particularity and universality) to understand the importance of the typical in artistic production and how it enables artistic knowledge, in its peculiarity, to be inserted into the omnilateral educational process (MANACORDA, 1991), in contrast to the unilateral formation that the needs of capital impose. We will argue that art, when presenting the destiny of humanity, does not make individuals invisible, nor does humanity appear as independent of them. What occurs is a unity in which both the singular dimension and the universal appear subsumed in particularity.
