Abstract

The text on screen presents results and discussions present in the dissertation “The work of memory and education in the struggle for the recognition of the Barra quilombo in Rio de Contas-BA” developed in the postgraduate program in Memory: Language and Society at the Universidade Estadual do Sudoeste da Bahia – UESB (2022-2024).

Géssica Maria Silva São José, UESB - State University of Southwest Bahia

Géssica Maria Silva São José, born in Rio de Contas Bahia, born on January 12, 1995 (29 years old) is a historian, graduated from the State University of Southwest Bahia – UESB (2021). Géssica is currently a master's student in Memory: Language and Society also at UESB. Social activist, black, feminist, since graduation her research has been focused on black feminism and counter-hegemonic education in Brazil. Studying Psychopedagogy at Faculdade Sudoeste (FASU) Vitoria Da Conquista-BA. University extension in Feminist Training Course State University of Southwest Bahia, UESB, Vitoria da Conquista.
