Framing and smoothing: building a self-management in the factory

This paper discusses a research at an old factory of the metallurgy field that became a cooperative after it has crashed. Questions and problems about self-management are brought to be debated, including its implications. Trough field work we composed registers with interviews and observations and traced cartography of the flows of the cooperative. We perceived that the instruments that ordered bodies and gestures had been made less hard but the way of work of the factory still there. Using this we could understand self-management as a “Boundary Phenomenon” between the capitalist logic and the welfare-state logic, exploring the capturing points and the disjointing points between those systems.Downloads
