This article aims to discuss the concept of revolutionary cinema from the perspective of three militant Latin American film groups: the Instituto Cubano del Arte e Industria Cinematográficos (ICAIC), Grupo Ukamau, and Cine Liberación, as represented by filmmakers Tomás Gutiérrez Alea, Julio García Espinosa, Fernando Solanas, and Jorge Sanjinés. In this sense, the work also discusses the intrinsic characteristics of cinema as an art form and its political possibilities.
