Abstract

Literature helps to consolidate concepts considered immutable and natural such as sex and gender; at the same time, it is the privileged stage for the re-signification and transformation of such concepts. This is what we are going to discuss in this article, from the short story “O Travesti” by Cape Verdean writer Fernando Monteiro.
